Early morning departure from Marrakech toward the High Atlas Mountains. After a scenic drive through mountain roads and traditional villages, arrival at the trekking starting point where you meet the mule team and local staff. The first hike leads through beautiful mountain scenery toward Tachdirt Village, one of the highest inhabited villages in the region. This first day offers an authentic introduction to Amazigh mountain life, with stone houses, terraced agriculture, and peaceful valleys surrounded by dramatic peaks. Tachdirt (2,500 m) → Tizi Likemt Pass (3,600 m) → Azib Likemt (3,000 m)
Today is one of the most scenic days of the trek. After breakfast, begin the ascent toward Tizi Likemt Pass (3,600 m), one of the most spectacular panoramic viewpoints in the High Atlas Mountains. From the pass, enjoy breathtaking views across remote valleys, rugged peaks, and vast mountain landscapes before descending toward Azib Likemt, a traditional Amazigh summer village used seasonally by nomadic families and shepherds. Azib Likemt → Aourai → Amssouzart / Ait Igrane
Today’s route crosses remote mountain terrain and hidden valleys of the western High Atlas. The trail passes near Aourai and crosses Tizi N’Ouray Pass before descending into fertile valleys filled with walnut trees, terraced fields, and traditional villages. This is a slower cultural day where travelers experience daily Amazigh mountain life far from tourist routes. The peaceful atmosphere, agricultural landscapes, and village encounters make this one of the most authentic days of the trek. Amssouzart (1,800 m) → Lake Ifni (2,300 m)
After breakfast, continue trekking upward through remote valleys toward the legendary Lake Ifni, the only natural lake in the High Atlas Mountains. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks and dramatic cliffs, the lake offers one of the most peaceful and magical settings in the region. The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation, photography, and enjoying the silence of the mountains before gathering around a traditional campfire under a spectacular star-filled sky. Lake Ifni → Tizi Ouanoumss Pass (3,650 m) → Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m)
Today is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding. The route climbs steadily through rocky valleys and dramatic mountain landscapes toward Tizi Ouanoumss Pass (3,900 m), one of the highest and most impressive passes in the High Atlas Mountains. From the top, enjoy unforgettable panoramic views before descending toward the Toubkal Refuge, located at the foot of Mount Toubkal. The evening is dedicated to rest and preparation for summit day. Mount Toubkal Summit (4,167 m) → Imlil
Early morning departure for the final ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. The climb is gradual but rewarding, leading to breathtaking panoramic views across the Atlas Mountains and toward the Sahara Desert on clear days. After time at the summit for rest and photos, descend back to the refuge for lunch before continuing down to Imlil Village, marking the end of the trek.
